Attorney Rachel Smith joined the Law Offices of Paul Scott & Associates in 2023. For nearly 15 years, Rachel handled almost every kind of criminal case ranging from petty misdemeanors like trespass and retail fraud to major felonies like sexual assault and murder. She’s an experienced trial attorney who started her career as a prosecutor in Miami, Florida before she moved to Michigan in 2012 and began working for the Honorable Geoffrey L. Neithercut in Genesee County as his judicial law clerk. In 2016, she joined the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office and handled cases, in almost every capacity as a prosecutor until 2023.  Rachel also has extensive experience with the appellate process and has authored numerous briefs to the Michigan Court of Appeals and argued before the court on several occasions in both criminal and family court cases.

Rachel graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University in 2005 before attending law school at Villanova University, where she graduated cum laude in 2008 and received her Juris Doctor degree. She also has been published in the field of Environmental Law. Rachel lives in Grand Blanc with her husband and two children.
